Dr. Steven C. Obert and his wife, Sharon, opened the doors to the Obert Chiropractic Center in February of 1993. The Centers mission is to provide quality chiropractic care, treat patients like people rather than conditions, and do so in a warm and caring environment. Dr. Obert focuses on educating patients about the benefits of chiropractic, the importance of maintaining spinal integrity, and treating the cause of their problems, not only their symptoms. Chiropractic is a successful treatment for spinal conditions, whiplash, carpal tunnel, TMJ, scoliosis, and maintaining overall health through eliminating nerve interference. Since its opening in downtown Mishawaka, the Obert Chiropractic Center has been a referral-based practice, relying on patient satisfaction to promote growth.
Dr. Obert received his undergraduate degree from Valparaiso University, and his chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Obert utilizes several adjusting techniques, including Cox Flexion Distraction, Diversified, Chiropractic Biophysics Technique (CBP) and Activator techniques. In addition, Dr. Obert has received certification in the treatment of carpal tunnel, whiplash, and craniosacral therapy.
In 2000, Dr. Obert began a community education program, providing complimentary workshops on topics such as Fibromyalgia, Womens and Childrens Health Issues, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Headaches, and low back pain associated with the golf swing. Also involved with many community projects, Dr. Obert has sponsored a Walk Team for Hospice and an annual food drive for the past four years. He also contributes to a wide variety of area schools and organizations.
In December 2000, Mayor Beutter presented Dr. Obert with a key to the city of Mishawaka, noting Dr. Oberts success as a doctor, community leader, employer, and family man.
Besides excellent chiropractic treatments from Dr. Obert, our center also provides diagnostic x-rays and physical therapies to enhance your recovery process. These include electric stimulation, heat and ice, muscle work, microcurrent therapy, exercise rehabilitation, and orthotic fitting. In addition, we have two certified massage therapists on staff, one who specializes in sound assisted soft tissue mobilization or SASTM.
