Dont worry, our rehabilitation specialists assist in treating muscle and tissue injuries unrelated to sports as well.
A great majority of sports injuries are muscle and tissue related and do not require surgery. That is why seeing a physician specifically trained in the treatment of sports-related muscle and tissue injuries should always be your first step to quick relief and recovery.

What is the difference between a Sports Medicine Physician and an Orthopedic Surgeon?
Both are well trained in musculoskeletal medicine. Sports Medicine Physicians specialize in the non-operative medical treatment of musculoskeletal sports conditions. Orthopedic surgeons are also trained in the operative treatment of these conditions. Approximately 90% of allsports injuries are non-surgical, and Sports Medicine Physicians can expedite referral to a orthopedic/sports surgeon when indicated, and can help guide referrals to appropriate rehabilitative care and ancillary services as needed. Common examples of musculoskeletal problems include:
Expert injury evaluation and treatment for a safe return to play
Preventative steps to reduce the likelihood of re-injury
Exercise prescriptions and sport-specific training to prevent re-injury and bench-time
Sports-specific training with our XL program
