Harrington's ATA Martial Arts and Karate for Kids has programs for all ages. No matter what your goal is HMA has the program for you.

ATA FIT is a workout that readies your body for virtually any physical activity and can be geared toward anyone from pro athletes to the non athletes. Most other training programs work on cardiovascular endurance and/or strength but ATA FIT develops flexibility. power, speed, coordination, agility, accuracy, and balance. With regards to cardiovascular endurance the workouts alternate between short bursts of exertion and rest.

One new teaching method called "360 Training" is already being heralded for its ability to seamlessly blend fitness training into regular Taekwondo class segments. It is made up of functional movements done at high intensity. Every workout has a different set or techniques but the workout can be scaled down to meet individual needs such as lower weights, reduced reps, modified push ups and pull ups.

There are 6 parts to the "360 Training" push-ups, sit-ups, lunges, punching, kicking, and a combination of kicks and punches. When a martial artist becomes proficient in these drills, and proficient means being able to performance the drills with quality and not just quantity. The end result will be a better, faster, healthier martial artist.

Harrington's ATA Martial Arts offers ATA-Xtreme. This form of martial arts is a hybrid of traditional taekwondo open-hand and weapons forms and may contain acrobatics, and gymnastics, however it is based on the traditional moves of taekwondo. The goal of its participants is to impress both the audience and the judges with their skill and choreography.
ATA Xtreme (aka XMA or Xtreme Martial Arts) is a combination of techniques, methods of movements and philosophies from all martial arts styles. It is a mixture of virtually all martial arts styles blended together with high-flying acrobatics and gymnastics. It is what you are seeing on TV, in the movies and on the internet. The goal of ATA Xtreme is to take the skills our students have and take them to the "Xtreme" level and to challenge the students to become better than they thought possible. Common moves include the butterfly roundkick, backtuck, 540 Crescent kick, double jump front kick, L-kick, and Kip-up.
Mike Chat, creator of XMA, describes his program as: The ability to perform highly skilled moves and also the ability to perform basic moves and make them look spectacular! This is why XMA is not only for the elite level athletes and competitors, but also for beginners at the entry level as well. It is the look in ones eyes and position of ones body that tells the story. Its not only about punching and kicking, or jumping and flipping, but more, showing strength through the mind as well as the body. To stand planted with your feet on the ground and command the attention of the audience without sound or movement, using only the look in your eyes and the strength of your stance, actually shows more power than any punch, kick or flip. Thats Xtreme!"
"With XMA we train and condition our bodies to test our physical limits, but at the same time, through this training, we also develop mental strength and tenacity to aid in overcoming physical challenges. Life presents us with many obstacles on all different levels, and XMA is here to help you feel more confident in dealing with these challenges, mentally, physically and emotionally.
If this program sounds like it can benefit you or your child, please contact us to reserve a spot in the ATA Xtreme class.

We have several programs for a variety of purposes, ranging from basic martial arts, to self defense, to esteem and life skills building and more. Over the years, the ATA has come to realize that there are many reasons for studying Songahm Taekwondo, and we have worked hard to develop programs that will help realize these goals rather than forcing our students into one, linear area of study and practice.

Songahm Taekwondo itself is always evolving, and as such we will always develop new programs and update our existing programs to ensure our students have as much access to the different aspects of Songahm Taekwondo as possible.
