The mission of Dance Techniques is to inspire young entertainers to be their personal best, to foster self confidence, and instill a love of all aspects of the performing arts. Through quality instruction and personalized attention, students will grow into well rounded performers and self-actualized individuals.
Winter has certainly made itself known! With the icy roads and snow covered parking lots and sidewalks, DTCD has had to close a few days this week. Although the break from classes is nice, it also makes me realize how much I look forward to seeing the students at my studio.
Yes, winter has been harsh, but with every week that passes inside Dance Techniques, I am reminded that spring is soon to arrive. Spring brings a sense of renewal and hope. It also brings the added stress of recital! Students and teachers are working incredibly hard on their respective recital pieces. It's quite exciting to watch the development of each dancer and their journey toward a collective goal.
Costumes will soon arrive and recital tickets will go on sale. I will begin working on next year's schedule, edit music for our production, send home lots of recital notices, finish choreograpy picture schedules, and yes, even start on next year's recital! Good thing Beach Week begins the 22nd- I will need a vacation!
It was so exciting to see the billboards go up all over town! The girls pictured on the billboard patiently sat through an hour of picture taking before we got the picture you see. Of course, it was the last picture taken that I chose!!!!
We will also have some new teachers with us for this year. Megan Carty, April Acree and Kyla Pitts will be joining Miss Sheila, Miss Melissa and Miss Laura as my teaching staff. They are sure to bring new energy to the studio!
