The fundraiser pitted 60 teams of heel-clad men against each other in a race that raised money for Middle Way House, a nonprofit organization that protects women from domestic violence.
Cheering men with pained expressions took to the streets Saturday, running up and down North Jordan Avenue in stilettos.
It was a sea of red and black as about 60 relay teams competed in the first annual A Walk in Her Shoes, a relay race sponsored by Alpha Chi Omega to raise money for the local Middle Way House a nonprofit domestic violence shelter.

Hair cutting marathon raises money for Middle Way House
IU Senior Paige Skinner tried to keep her head straight as hair stylist Judy Gavin added layers to her newly short hair.
Skinners former thick dark blond ponytail, which Gavin had cut off moments before, sat on the table in front of her.
I decided a couple of weeks ago to just cut it off, Skinner said. Its been growing
Skinner got her haircut at a hair cutting marathon Sunday to benefit Middle Way House, Inc.
In hopes of being part of a world record, 37 dancers from Bloomington came to the Willkie Quad Auditorium Saturday as zombies to dance to "Thriller" in the Thrill the World 2010 dance.
MWH Emergency Shelter and offices in new facility
Middle Way House staff and residents moved into the long-awaited new facility in early August 2010 the culmination of a five-year, $5+ million project to raise funds, renovate and restore the former Coca Cola Bottling Plant, and plan and build new offices and housing.
Though the project is complete and staff and residents have moved in, the challenge of covering the costs continues for features that were not covered in the construction contract. For example,MWH could not have openedthe doors without the sophisticated, computer-operated security system.

Community Partners: The Bloomington Quilters Guild displayed almost 50 quilts (at left) members made for residents at Middle Way House's new emergency shelter at the New Wings facility in April. The occasion was an open housethat gave New Wings Community Partnership members a chance to see the building. The quilts were in the new Food Works kitchen located in the historic building at 318 South Washington. Now, however, they're on the beds of the Shelter's residents.
