Rev. Thomas Perchlik
On one had family is the source of life and love and all that we know. On the other hand family can be the source of harm, suffering, irritation or anger. Some say that the church is their family. What does it mean to be part of a family? Are we members of the human family? Does your family irritate you, or do you irritate your family? If so what should you do about that?

We give thanks for life that has risen from the soil and waves of this earth,
for the blessings of our religious freedom,
and for the web of relationships that sustain us all.

The Harvest Feast is our congregation's annual intergenerational program and dinner. Through words, music and food we give thanks for our family and friends and celebrate our religious freedom and expression.
This year we are proud to be serving pastured, organic turkey from a LaGrange, Indiana farm. Participants are asked to bring ample additional side dishes -- dressing & bread, potatoes, salads, vegetables and pre-cut desserts. We ask that you try to include a local ingredient in the dish you bring to the feast -- some sources are the Downtown Farm Stand, Minnetrista Saturday Market, a local orchard, or something you preserved from your own garden. Be as generous as you are able, we want to be sure the last person through the line has as lovely a dinner as the first. Beverages are provided.

An old saying is that the true purpose of an apple tree is not to produce apples, but more apple trees. Always a forest is trying to grow and extend itself. More trees cannot grow into the forest that exists, instead the boundaries must be extended.
