During the holiday season, Bloomington Transit will partner again with B97, the Salvation Army, and Sprint to help make the holidays a little merrier for children and families in need. The goal is to literally "STUFF" a decorated Bloomington Transit bus completely full of donated unwrapped new toys, new children's coats and new children's mittens. A festively decorated Bloomington Transit bus will visit a number of shopping centers and retail locations throughout Bloomington over the next few weeks including November 26 and December 3 thru 12. Persons wishing to make a donation to Stuff-A-Bus can drop off their items at the bus. Hours for Stuff-A-Bus are shown below for each day. If persons can't make it to the Stuff-A-Bus, they can drop off their donations at the Bloomington Transit offices, 130 W. Grimes Lane, Bloomington.
Last year Bloomington Transit and B97 with the help of area stores and a generous community were able to collect over 2,000 new toys, stuffed animals, new coats, hats and mittens for needy children and families. "We were in awe at the wonderful generosity shown by the Bloomington community. The generosity shown by so many caring people was absolutely incredible," according to Bloomington Transit General Manager, Lew May. "We're looking forward to a bigger and better year and encourage the community to continue their generous support," according to May. The donated items will be distributed by the Salvation Army.
The locations and dates for Stuff-A-Bus are shown below.
Nov. 26 – Canopy of Lights, Courthouse Square, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Dec. 3 – Wonder Lab, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
