The job market world is full of potential and possibilities. One of the biggest decisions you will have to make is going with a temporary job or a permanent job. There seem to be advantages and disadvantages to both. You will want to take a moment and sort out which is the right option for you.

Which one is going to be the better choice for you? Take a look below and see!

Pros and cons of temporary jobs
Let’s go with pros, first, since they are more fun. If you don’t like the job that you're doing, there’s a set expiry date. You can move on to other opportunities. The job description tasks are your only expectations. You can turn down extra work or hours that you don't want.

Cons of temp jobs are something to consider, however. The main one is that you only have so much work available. Once the time expires, you’re out of a job. You often don't get paid sick time or any vacation days. Then there is the fact that you will be going into a position and then leaving again. This means leaving friendships or collaborations behind in your wake.

Pros and cons of permanent jobs
Pros of permanent jobs are pretty great, as you’re about to see. First off the list is that your pay check is as close to guaranteed as you can get. Whether you’re working on a renewing contract, or just hired on as an employee, you know that you’ve got a reliable pay check.

Pros also include, in most cases, some kind of benefits. This often includes details such as health insurance and other medical-related expenses. Other serious and important perks include: paid vacation and sick leave, and even the option for overtime and raises. Then, of course, there’s potential for promotions and higher positions!

Cons of permanent jobs can include the idea that you are working on a contract. This means giving proper notice when you decide to leave for another job. It also means that you’ll be expected to do a variety of tasks and turning down a task isn’t really an option, since you were hired to do that specific job.

Which is better?
Both permanent and temp jobs offer some serious pros and thought-provoking cons. At the end of the day, permanent jobs will often be the better choice for those that want to seriously engage with the job market. The key is to get the right job. This highlights all of the pros and downplays the potential cons. Allow BKG to help you in your mission to do just that.

Conclusion
A job is a job, so the saying goes. If you unjust need a few dollars at a time, temp jobs can be a great opportunity. If you want any kind of serious career or job potential, though, a permanent position is often going to be the key to that. The goal is to find the right position with the right company so that you can see the potential of a permanent job waiting for you every single day.
