Adult and child is a preferred provider of mental health and child welfare programs in Indianapolis and central Indiana. With roughly 350 full time employees, we provide mental health services to over 4,500 unique individuals and families every year. We are a not-for-profit agency who works very hard to improve the behavioral health and child welfare of the communities we serve. To us, the honor of being an Indiana state certified Community Mental Health Center comes with the responsibility to provide the highest quality services; which are seamlessly integrated with the community and focused on each person's individual needs.
We believe the symptoms of mental illness are treatable and we work hard to develop a close working partnership with each person we serve. In addition to our multiple service sites in an attempt to reduce barriers to service, many of our providers deliver services in the homes and communities of our consumers.
Adult and Child Center is one of the largest Therapeutic Foster Care providers in Marion County for a good reason. Our foster parents are some of the highest trained and most supported foster parents in the industry. We encourage only the best, most genuine and most dedicated foster parents to foster with Adult and Child's Foster Care Program.
We believe in the delivery of Evidence Based Practices when addressing mental illness. Whether through our partnership for integrated behavioral and primary healthcare, or our cutting edge delivery of Illness Management and Recovery in our Assertive Community Treatment teams, Adult and Child strives to prove best practices, yield better outcomes.
Adult and Child Center was awarded SAMHSA's prestigious 2008 Science and Service Award for our unique and successful implementation of evidence based practices and our dedication to peer support specialists (recovering consumers guiding consumers) in the person centered planning process.
We believe that each child deserves a safe, loving and nurturing home to grow and learn in.
